Hollywood Producer Polly Platt died in New York, aged 72

Hollywood producer Polly Platt has died aged 72 in New York. Her daughter Sashy Bogdanovich said that, she died on Wednesday of a form of motor neurone disease. Polly Platt leaves three grandsons and two daughter.


Polly Platt was born in lllinois and studied at Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh and then she started costume designing.


Polly Platt worked with her husband Boganovich before divorce as a set designer on films including The Picture Show


After divorce in 1971, they maintained a professional relationship on hit films. Polly Platt was known for her long  professional relationship with director James L Books and was executive vice-president of his production company Gracie Films.


In the 80s Polly Platt presented Brooks with a cartoon strip written by the Matt Groening, who will later go on to create  The Simpsons. Brooks went on to become a long-standing writer on The Simpsons series.
