Muttiah Muralitharan
One of the greatest bowlers of History of the Cricket is none other than Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lankan Team born on 17th April 1972 at Kandy, SL. He is a legend the highest wicket taker in Test and ODI matches. 800 wickets in 133 test matches with bowling average of 22.72 and his best is 9 for 51 runs. In 337 ODI matches he took 515 wickets and with bowling average of 23.07 and his best is 7 for 30 runs. He has been played for Kent, Chennai Super Kings, Lancashire and now plays for Tamil Union and Kochi IPL Team. This cool and very balance natured gentleman plays a sincere and strategic cricket. He is vice captain of Sri Lankan National Team. His bowling action was came into questions and headlines by umpires and some rival teams, but he got clearance after biomechanical analysis under simulated playing conditions held by International Cricket Council, first time in 1996 and second time in 2004. He uses the technique of Doosra in his bowling which was invented by Pakistani cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq. Now he is retired from Test Cricket but is an important part of ODI squad for World Cup 2011.
