Kumar Sangakkara

Sri Lankan wicket keeper and the captain Kumar Chokshanada Sangakkara, born on October 27, 1977 at Matale, Sri Lanka. This left handed batsman’s name has been added to the teams like Nondescripts, Kings XI Punjab, Warwickshire and now playing for Deccan Chargers. Sangakkara is a Law student and on the field he is a very stylish and talented batsman. He has scored 8016 runs in 91 test matches with an average of 56.85, 23 centuries, 33 half centuries, 287 top score. In 279 ODI matches he has scored 8604 runs with an average of 36.76, 10 centuries, 58 half centuries, 138 top score. Sri Lankan team is one of the strong contenders of World Cup 2011 under the leadership of Sangakkara. He has been good as a captain so far.
