Mendis is not less than a gem for Sri Lankan team. He is a right arm leg-spinner cum off-spinner bowler, born on 11th March 1985. He is amazingly skilled in delivering googlies, top spinners, flippers and leg-breakers, specially the Carom Balls, released with a flick of his middle finger. He is a part of Sri Lankan Army and now plays for Wayamba and Kolkata Knight Riders. In 10 test matches he took 44 wickets and bowling average is 29.50 with 6 for 117 runs as his best. In 36 ODI matches he has taken 71 wickets and bowling average is 16.36 with 6 for 13 runs as his personal best. Mendis is famous for his disguised bowling which is utterly difficult to read for the batsman. He is capable to change the match situations and emerges as a Match winner. He is looking forward for his best in coming World Cup.
