A Raja was born on 10th May 1963 in Peramblur, Tamil Nadu. He is a member of 15th Lok Sabha representing the Nilgiris. He first became Communication and Information Technology minister in 2007 and on being re-elected in 2009, he again became Communication and Inforamtion Technology Minister. But the problem started when in 2008 he sold the 2G spectrum at the prices of 2001. The 2G scam is the largest political corruption case in modern Indian history, amounting to record $40 billion loss for underpricing to the Government of India. However the CAG report states that the loss is of 176,000 crore. CAG reports says that Raja is personally responsible for the scam and for all these he resigned on 14th November 2010.
